BIKE COPENHAGEN WITH MIKE

011-45-26-39-56-88, www.bikecopenhagenwithmike.dk, depart from Copenhagen Bikes at 11 Reventlowsgade on the west side of the main train station. Tours available through Sept. 30. The tour costs about $30 and bikes can be rented in the cycle center for about $15.

MY BIKES

57 Store Kongensgade, 011-45-33-11-12-11, is a small shop near Amalienborg Palace that sells custom-made bikes designed by Rasmus Gjesing. Be warned: The bikes are not inexpensive, including one called the Killer for $4,300.

WHERE TO STAY

I like Ibsens Hotel, 23 Vendersgade, 011-45-33-13-19-13, www.ibsenshotel.dk, a well-run, modest place on the west side of the city center; doubles start about $200.

WHERE TO EAT

Sticks n Sushi is a chain of eight terrific contemporary Japanese restaurants in Copenhagen. One is just down the block from Ibsens Hotel at 59 Nansensgade, 011-45-33-11-14-07, www.sticksnsushi.dk. Reservations are recommended and expect to pay $30 to $50 per person.

Nytorv Restaurant & Café, 15 Nytorv, 011-45-33-11-77-06, www.nytorv.dk, is an old-fashioned place in the center of town that specializes in open-faced Danish sandwiches; $20 to $30 per person for a light meal.

The Taco Shop, 57 Farimagsgade, 011-45-33-32-83-30, serves tasty, homemade Mexican fare, eat in or to go; $10 to $15 per person.
