Scottsdale's (New) Improved Troon North
Troon North Golf Club, a 36-hole bastion of Scottsdale golf vacations, has been touting its "two new golf courses". Intrigued why the golf club would mess with its acclaimed Monument Course and its Pinnacle Course, a solo Tom Weiskopf design, we made our anonymous site visit to find the truth for you.
Troon North says Weiskopf returned to create a "completely new playing experience." The truth is, while Weiskopf updated some bunkers, a few holes, and added superior bentgrass to the greens, the main change was simply transposing nines for more cohesive routings. In sum, not quite "two new golf courses."

The Best Course to Play at Grayhawk
There are two golf courses at Grayhawk Golf Club, the popular Scottsdale, Arizona golf vacation spot which hosts the PGA Tour's Fry's Electronics Open. But if you could only play one round, which golf course would you choose? 
We know. It's the Raptor Course, the newer of the two layouts. Tom Fazio's track features more stunning desert vistas and elevation changes than the Talon Course, and its undulating greens are among the toughest to read of all Scottsdale golf courses.
