A Sunny Rendezvous in Mallorca, Spain
Mallorca, Spain is one of the many popular summer travel destinations I’ve been hearing more and more about. It’s a small island off the coast of Spain in the Balearic Sea, even a short ferry ride from the infamous island of Ibiza. Mallorca is glistening, blue, and one of the best trips I’ve ever had.
My friend and I were planning a huge Spain trip. Ibiza, Mallorca, Madrid, Barcelona. We were even planning on including Portugal, cause, how could you not? We made extravagant plans and full-on itineraries in each iconic city, but after months of planning, we decided to do a clean 10 days in Mallorca only. It was the best decision we ever made and we have 0 regrets. Instead of jumping around every 2-3 days with our luggage, we were able to immerse ourselves into the full experience of this one island without feeling rushed or having a packed schedule. While it may be a small island, there are so many things to do.
Driving a Car in Mallorca, Spain
We stayed in an Airbnb in the heart of Old Palma for our entire stay. Palma is the main city of the Island and we felt was the best place to venture out from. We rented a car so that we could travel the island on our time and go wherever we want! Be aware you must get an international drivers license in order to drive. It’s easy to get but don’t forget to get it.
Getting around by car is pretty simple. The only thing that threw me off was the amount of roundabouts. It was insane how many roundabouts I did per day. After a trip driving around here, I promise you will be a roundabout pro. Another thing I want to mention about driving in Mallorca, is the size of the car matters. There are endless beaches to go visit all throughout the island. Some of those places are a bit scary to get to. Many of them have extremely limited parking. A small car is crucial for both of these. I ended up getting a relatively big car. All I was thinking about was how we were going to get our luggage from the airport to the Airbnb. I was very happy and grateful for how spacious the car was, but I definitely would’ve felt incredibly safer with a much smaller car.
Mallorca Beaches
So many beaches to go to!! It’s a little overwhelming. But man, there are a ton and they’re all so unique and different and special in their own way. Some are a bit tricky to get to because of how narrow the roads are and windy mountain roads (which is why small cars are best), but I fell in love with each and every one of them.
Calo Des Moro/ Cala S’Almonia
This was our absolute most favorite beach. The best thing about this beach is that it is walking distance to another beautiful beach, Cala S’Almonia. Its a 2 for 1! Parking actually wasn’t so bad here. There is street parking in a neighborhood, and you can just walk to the stairs where it leads to the beach.
Cala Deia
This was the first beach we went to, and boy what a first beach we picked. It was wonderful and lovely yes, but the “two way” winding road to get there was incredibly narrow and once you got to the bottom to park, parking was incredibly scarce. We somehow got lucky. But if you easily get anxiety driving, I would save this one for when you’re more comfortable.
Once we parked and arrived though, it was great! Two restaurants on the water to choose from and the beach, completely rocky, was still pleasant to sit and swim at.
Cala LLombards
Busy but pretty beach with a restaurant on the sand that sells brunch and smoothies and drinks.
Sa Calobra
Another crazy, winding, incredibly steep, and anxiety inducing drive but WELL WORTH IT! Such a fun cliff jumping spot. Once parked it’s a little way to walk there but it was definitely a highlight.
Cala Tuent
This beach is close in driving distance to Calobra. It has a pretty cliff restaurant that we stopped at as well!
Mhares Sea Club
Beautiful club with cabanas, chairs, poolside service, and a restaurant. Very luxurious! Definitely recommend booking a reservation to spend a day here.
Yacht Tour
It is a MUST to take at least one boat tour while on Mallorca. It was one of the best parts of the whole trip! We were brought to stunning snorkel spots in the sea. They served food and drinks on the boat and they even had a SLIDE! We booked with Catamaran Blue Circle and we would do it again!
Villages
The villages of the island were absolutely stunning. I wish I had more time to spend at each one.
Deia
A beautiful village in the mountains.
Santanyi
Santanyi holds a market with dozens of dozens of stands of varieties of food, clothes, jewelry, and knick-knacks!
Valldemossa
A very picturesque and fairytale village with cobblestone streets.

A wonderful restaurant with stunning outdoor dining overlooking the mountains with the sea in the distance.
Patron Lunares
I specifically came here because I am gluten free and I heard they served gluten free fried calamari here. It was delicious and overall, the restaurant was a vibe!!

The Best Summer Adventure
Mallorca was one of the most fun trips I’ve ever had, with the most individually beautiful and unique beaches I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to go back!
